Hi Guys,

On Rain's uncapped sim for R250 p/m does anyone know if you can open specific ports on the router in order to access services hosted on your pc. I have a machine at my house I need to login to all the time to send invoice to customers etc. I do not want to use something like Teamviewer or Anydesk.

Not possible, RAIN uses carrier grade NAT on mobile, and gives out Private IP addresses.
On RAIN fixed lte yes, because Public IP Addresses get assigned.

What Hummercellc said.

Tried to do some port forwarding myself last year, needless to say I was unsuccessful and got confirmation from Rain themselves that port forwarding is blocked on the mobile product.

One thing you can do is get a cheap VPS and use remote port forwarding via SSH. I've done it from time to time for other reasons, it works well enough.

They block all direct incoming connections. I just wanted to view my cctv camera system remotely. When I asked them they denied having blocked anything... Then again their 1st level support do not know anything anyway.
