Openserve + Afrihost 100/50mbps fibre but getting 2/50mbps

Openserve just installed fibre to my home and I'm sadly getting 2-3mbps download and 30-40mbps upload on my 100/50mbps package. Afrihost couldn't help me, and they can't get hold of Openserve because they're not answering after 5pm. Has anyone had this before and what was the resolution?

I've tried rebooting everything, unplugging and plugging everything back in, wifi and wired, mikrotik and d-link routers, etc. to no avail.

There's no obvious reason for it that I can think of. Unless Openserve has artificially limited download to the 4mbps line speed of my still active ADSL line?

Ok, so Afrihost is the problem it seems. Will email them these speedtests and see where it gets me. Thanks.

Get a 1GB free Web Africa account and test. If WA is fine, tell Afrihost to terminate and reassign your PPPoE account as someone messed up the provisioning.

Oh, I'll go further and mention that if you're experiencing the same issues as what I did, you'll find that your line runs at near maximum speeds during the day, but when peak-usage hours arrive their network seems unable to cope with the load, which causes speed results like you experience.

Damn. Not many alternatives left. I had a fibre preorder with WebAfrica that never went anywhere, so I cancelled when Afrihost managed to get openserve installers out first. VOX is far too expensive. Who else?

Which account you use for AH? Home? Premium or Priority?

No issues had on Premium yet.

Thanks. Going to try AH premium first then I'll try CISP at the higher price. Also don't want to get stuck offline if I move my line around, so will have to keep my line with AH for now.
