Hey Guys...I'm hoping there is an undercover OpenServe tech or someone with inside info out there.

I've exhausted all normal channels to get this info out of Telkom. :erm:

So I'm looking at getting 100Mb/s uncapped fiber for my business and I found this deal from Telkom which is the best one I can find, concidering coverage in my area (Premium Fibre Uncapped Delux)

Now I was tring to find out to what extent does OpenServe support Diverse Routing. As far as I understand with this package only one cable will actually land on my site. However what isnt clear is whether, were my fiberline terminates(Road side box) is part of a loop with fiber leaving and connected in two differant directions. So that if say construction damages the loop up the road it will still have an uplink in the other direction?

Then if anyone can confirm this is actually a "best effort" service with no real uptime garentees?

Hopefully someone out there has more info that the call centre...lol

It is not a business line, so I doubt they have an SLA. I suggest getting the fiber and setting up a 2nd fail over such as an LTE router or similar.

Otherwise reach out to a business unit (Telkom, Neotel, etc) who will be able to discuss SLAs.

FTTH is residential services, and targeted as such. Businesses requiring SLAs and as you say, diverse routing, need business lines and business services. And yes, FTTH is pretty much best effort, although due to competition the effort is at this stage rather good - but again, this may change in the future as more and more residential users jump on the network.

At a bare minimum, you're going to start at about R3k or R4k per month for a Business class, dedicated fiber circuit.
