 I need to rant!

After waiting for months for fibre, since ADSL is almost non-existent in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion, my complex finally went dark purple about three weeks ago.

My application was first, as the technician who installed the indoor fibre and ONT device said he wasn't even aware that the area had gone live....

Anyway... after installing, my LOS LED didn't turn green, after some troubleshooting, he said the issue is further upstream.

Yesterday, another team from Telkom/Openserve came out to investigate, upon opening the manhole, and inspecting the splitter, the engineer tells me the Exchange isn't live yet - "there is no GPON equipment there" and that Planning only has that area earmarked for maybe August.

NOW WHAT....

Telkom was more than happy to cancel my LTE because I'm moving to Telkom Fibre, no I have nothing.

Hmmm, our area is also dark purple on the Openserve map, and fibre is installed in our estate. We're trying to get connected, but were also told that the GPON isn't active as there is a problem that needs to be fixed. They said a technician needs to do work at the exchange.

So I'm not sure if there is just a problem at the exchange, or if it is the same as your case (equipment not installed yet). I haven't been given any actual timeline or date for the work to be completed.

I'm going to follow up.
