Openserve announces fibre speed upgrades

Telkom's fixed-line division Openserve will increase speeds on most of its fibre-to-home (FTTH) packages from 1 April 2023.

Openserve said the changes showcased its commitment to providing a high-quality and reliable service to its channel partners and users of its network.

What happens in March? Do we go back to the old speeds for a month and then the bump up in April!

These will come with 10% price increases to the ISP

Be careful Openserve or ISP do not charge you a downgrade fee like what Frogfoot did.

Be careful they do not implement a downgrade fee that ISP might charge you like what Frogfoot did
Slimey move by FF. Would be even more slimy if Openserve increased everyone across their network's speeds and then charged a fee to revert back.

Some have been doing that for a while.

It is clearly communicated though.

The worker at Telkom who updated the spreadsheet probably got distracted... and also forgot to create an entry for the 1Gbit offering.
......

If I'd received 1c for every sarcastic remark you have posted on MyBB, I would have been a Trillionaire by now...

Probably best to make incremental speed upgrades rather than oversaturating what the network can handle.

Openserve already charges for every downgrade promo or not.
