Good day everyone.

After much frustration with ADSL and trying to get a higher speed VDSL fibre has now become available from Telkom.

I wasnt approached by them to switch over to fibre as yet. But i have seen the fibre point infront of my gate when my copper line was installed.

I phoned in to sales and the options are that i take a 24 month contract for R799 and get the normal 20mbps and 100Gb
Or i could take it month to month but then i need to pay R1700 installation.
I am renting for a year and as such there would be penalties if i had to move and the new premises had no fibre available.

But as far as i know once telkom installs fibre they move over customers from copper to fibre with the same package you had? Would you still need to pay installation then since its something they are initiating. https://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/153622-telkom-moving-adsl-users-to-fibre-to-the-home.html

Seeing that they claim the fibre increases the value of the property, ask your landlord to cover the cost of installation?
