OpenServe sending a new telephone - what happens to the ADSL connection?

Hi

OpenServe has been running fibre down the road my mother lives in, and into her property. SHe has been told to expect the delivery of a new telephone, presumably one that will be linked to OpenServe/Telkom's fibre network rather than copper wires.
However, she is content with the ADSL account she has, and doesn't like the though of strangers coming into her house to set up a new router, and having to pay more than what she already does to Web Africa.

What happens once her home has an active fibre line? Will she still be able to get ADSL over copper?

Thanks

I find it hard to believe that she would pay more.

In my situation, I'm busy getting fibre:

My current ADSL
Speed: 10mbps down, 1mbps up
Telkom line rental: R220
ADSL line: R400
ISP Data: R380
Total cost: R1000

With OpenServe fibre, if I were to stay on a similar speed:
Speed: 10mbps down, 5mbps up.
Fibre + data: R500
Telephone: R85
Total Cost: R585

That's nearly half the price.

It's unlikely that the copper is going to be around for long, or that it would be maintained.
I'd say it's unavoidable and you should rather help her through the process.

What does she currently pay for the voice line rental?
What speed adsl does she have and what does she pay for that?
What isp/data package does she have with webafrica and what does she pay for it?

The telkom unlimitedhome package usually works out cheaper than a split product and you get free calls to telkom landline & mobile numbers. They also give you free telkom mobile data. You don't need a new phone, you can plug your existing phone into the ont.
The 4Mb/s telkom package is R600

Fibre is much more reliable than copper and the upload speeds are much better than with adsl.

It's not often you hear about people complaining that they are getting fibre...
