Openserve / Telkom - can I just get the fibre and no data ?

There is fibre at my place. Thing is it's openserve and they are expensive af.

Is it possible to just get them to install the fibre and then get data somewhere else. What are my options ?

O was at an openserve meeting 2 weeks ago and they said they install Fibre to door, and we are welcome to choose whomever we want for data.

Yes you can. I went with ispafrika which charges me R729 for a 100Mbps line and I use my own data

Also wondering this. How do you request it without ordering data? Phone Telkom via the customer call centre or Openserve directly?

Wasn't able to do it myself via Telkom - despite trying they only did bundled deals.

Ordered line via Axxess on a month to month basis and kept my Vox special DSL accounts. Full speed no issues on 100mbit Openserve Fibre.

So I just speak to the ISP ? Afrihost for example have multiple offerings and one of them is from openserve ... With heavy pricing. I'm still confused as to how to approach this

I suggest you contact Ispafrika and get them to handle it. Once installation is done you just look for a data provider.

Garth will sort you out in no time

Yep, I'm using a Vox 400GB fatpipe account with uncapped after 12pm.....no issues almost 8 months in

I am very happy to learn that I will be able to continue using my special rate fatpipe service. What is the speed like on your fibre with Vox data?

I also use ISP Afrika for my Openserve Fibre line. I use CrystalWeb for data. Garth is quite helpful and turnaround time is fantastic.

R729 for the line and R169 for data
R898 pm

Thanks . Since I am paying 800.00 for 8mbps uncapped with Vox on openserve and I only use between 150-200GB - looks like I could upgrade to 100mbps for nearly no additional cost :)

You won't find the data account I have anymore as it was a promotion
