OpenView HD free satellite TV for SA: channel genres and PVR plans

I just hope that when they decide to introduce a pay-for subscription, one will not have to purchase additional decoder. It would just be a subscription purchase that would "open" the additional material.

might see one or two more e tv channels did they have any extra channels during the digital trial?

Channels which i know of

sabc 1/2/3
etv
e-kasi
e-africa
e-movies
sentanta sport
mindset learning
nhk world hd
aljazeera
I'll take a guess and include bvn too,they'll be stupid not too.

Many of the e-crap content comes from their Ghana partnership.
Etv's parent company is involve in a similar fta setup called Multitv in Ghana,with etv and yfm also available there.

edit:For the skeptics...

Etv have nothing to lose but much to gain.They had 3 etv feeds on toptv sat for years now.All fta channels they'll carry already pay transponder space on same or different satellites.All they do is pay a cheaper carriage fee and no transponder space.

I just can't believe why they don't do a wrestling channel as etv already is 70% wrestling crap.

Based on the research, Platco’s priorities for OpenView HD’s channels were as follows:

1. Sport
2. Local news;
3. Education;
4. International news;
5. Local dramas and soaps;
6. Movies;
7. Children’s programs;
8. Reality;
9. Comedy;
10. Music;
11. Gospel;
12. Lifestyle;
13. International dramas, series and soaps;
14. and others.
There... I fixed it for you. If you want a successful satellite package that is....

PS - No idea how their "RESEARCH" did not get sport on that list...

Come back to earth. Sport is popular, but not that popular amongst people with brains.
