Is the Openweb IS Fibre ADSL Account any good? What speed does one get after hours? Is it quite stable?

I don't have any first hand experience....but the people seem happy with it.

I don't use OpenWeb specifically, but I have an IS Fibre Semi-shaped account and I cannot tell you how much I love it and how much better it is than any SAIX account.

Actually, I can quantify that last point - check out the thread in my signature :p

I've been using it for the past couple of months - absolutely love it. I'm just annoyed by the fact that they say for example, with a 2GB account you get 2GB after your cap local bandwidth, but the moment I reach the 2GB limit I can't connect using the user/pass anymore so I can't use the local bandwidth they claim to give me after reaching my cap.

That is so strange. Are you using OpenWeb? I use Nexus and I do not recall having problems. In fact, I don't use the local at all - what I find is that I can go well over my international cap and international continues working fine (I hit 13GB international on a 10GB account this month... the only reason I stopped is because I had another 10GB account to put to use!)

I would definitely find out from the ISP what is up, because you are supposed to be getting like-for-like local cap with the product!

Wait a minute. Are we all talking about the same kind of account?

I'm talking about the regular capped accounts that use IS Fibre access (vs. SAIX shaped or unshaped which are also fibre based). I'm not talking about any of the 'special' accounts like the VPN or 'use-your-local-for-international' or anything like that.

Straight up capped IS Fibre semi-shaped accounts are actually a dream come true, in my opinion. My understanding is that these accounts, like the SAIX shaped accounts (for example) are consistent in performance, features, etc. across all ISPs...

well i never miss an opportunity to heap praise on this product. it is simply amazing.

Yup - using OpenWeb. Guess I'll be giving Nexus a try.
