I would tend to think at worst this is possibly racism on the part of a single staff member at the restaurant, but more than likely there was an administrative error of some kind and this muppet is trying to blow it up into something bigger to get traffic to their blog.

This.

[Opinion] Oh Cape Town, "Using my white privilege"

You still haven't told us which restaurant you got the staff member fired from.

Has to be The Kove or Zenzero (both to the left of The Raj) - I doubt that Nandos (on the right) has a doorman.

@ grant stop following me around the forum.
oh the irony - he who refers to me in other threads expects me not to respond - if you dont like it, show yourself out.
i believe you have already been told where the door is by a mod already today.

not interested in following you around the forum
but should you keep referring to me in other threads (exactly as you have done here) expect me to be there.
you hurl an insult at me & when i fling one back you rush to the [rbp] button looking for others (mods) to fight the battles you start.

you have proven to be yourself an idiot and liar in this thread and others over the last few days

but here for everyone: dont just believe my version of events - browse this crackers post history & draw your own conclusions.

He's talking schit. That's why. I have worked at clubs and restaurant type places for more than a decade, not once was a staff member fired in front of anyone.

I know he is... The closest I ever got to having a staff member "fired" was me getting a complimentary voucher and a promise from the manager that the staff member would go on extensive training.

If that was a mafia restaurant, I doubt you would ever see him again :)

True.. :)

Pity it wasn't.. it was just a normal franchise restaurant... and from my experience the guy did go on some pretty decent training because he jacked himself up quite well afterwards.

Where are you standing? Is it just nandos to the right of the Raj?

He was told to leave, he was pissed off. I went back the next day to see if he was there as I said in my initial post.
I was glad at the time, I felt bad the next day, just a little bit.
Later I found out I wasnt the only person to complain about him, but when i complained and because I was asked to visit the restaurant by the owner, he got rid of him!

Really now?

You should learn how to keep your story straight.

How could you feel bad?

I can actually believe this.
I tried it out as well with similar results.

Went to a restaurant in camps bay, waited 15 min for a table while i could see tables available, continually advised that the tables are reserved. Eventually went in not aware of any discrimination, but then watched the door with people coming in, who is waiting and who is getting tables. I decided to test my theories and I was right. The doorman actually told me to go to the Indian restaurant next door!! I stood infront of him, called the owner in JHB, got the door man fired on the spot. (I know people)
The next day I went to the Indian restaurant next door, but also to see if the door man at previous restaurant was still there, he was not. People at the Indian restaurant confirmed my theory, they actually like it because it brings more patrons to their place.

Unfortunately im very rude to white service staff in CT, it works better though. Dont say hello, just say "Hey! table for 6" unbelievable how well it works.

We much more fortunate here in good ol JHB.

You used your, "I know people", trait to fire the man on the spot. How is the owner feeling about you taking away their clientele? How is this a theory?

I still call bullschit.

I want to know his theory.

So...

People at the Indian restaurant confirmed my theory, they actually like it because it brings more patrons to their place.

It seems that the Indian restaurant, "The Raj", was discriminated against by the unnamed neighbouring restaurant.

I did not tell the owner to fire him, I complained to the owner in other words.
I remember telling him about the bad treatment specifically by the doorman and asking if I had to make a reservation for better service etc etc.. he said Ill sort it out and hung up.
I went for a smoke, came back and his apron was on the wooden thingy*

*Clue
