Yah I know, Cape Town is a simple reference made by people outside of the Western Cape. For example, people visit Cape Town only to stay a day or two in Knysna, or they visit the mountain (Table Mountain) by going no further than Strand/Somerset West, even our tourism board has integrated Cape Town with near everything Western Cape.
