Hi everyone,

I'd like to know if anyone here has any experience with Anditiger silent diesel generators, like the ones advertised here?

I'm looking for a decent 7.5kVA - 10kVA 3-phase diesel generator, that won't break the bank, so that I can run fairly expensive sound, visual & lighting equipment off it. Like a 9.5kVA Kipor generator would be around R60k, where as this Anditiger 7.5kVA one goes for sub R15k.
Currently we have a cheap Ellies 2.5kW petrol generator and its power output isn't even clean enough to run my APC in-line UPS from it :(

Advice, opinions & reviews are much appreciated!

Buy decent or buy twice.

I wouldn't touch a chinese gen with a 10ft pole unfortunately, but I am biased as I work in the gen business.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I guess I'll also need feedback someone who actually owns one so that my opinion isn't just based off speculation.

Not sure I would call 70-72db silent:

... vacuum cleaner (70 dB) - Upper 70s are annoyingly loud to some people.

70 - 72dB seems pretty standard to me, when comparing it with the same kind of generator from Kipor? I don't mind something that is audible, as long as it's not very loud.

Is an "in-line" UPS a UPS that is well behaved?
An in-line UPS is one that will send through exactly what came in as its power source and does not feed always from the battery source like the on-line (aka double conversion) ones.

Buy decent or buy twice.

Apparently they have some Honda components in them, however I'm not sure which :(
I'm also concerned about unknown Chinese brands like this in terms of AVR...

Those things you work on are bigger than some engines that power ocean liners!
Osso I need to chat to you about gennies sometime.

Kipor's SS (Super Silent) gensets run at < 50dB... Their normal ones are about 60dB. Huge differences there.
