I need some kind of opinion on this GPS.

The reason fro this one specifically is that it is available on Discovery Vitality for R2 755-00 which means that you can use Discovery Miles to buy the GPS (which will bring the price down)

The Nuvi is great, but has got me substantially lost out in the bush at times....but I am talking deep rural here, and I doubt if any other GPS would have been better at the time. I find it very user friendly as well.

That price is amazing!!

A Garmin with the latest Garmap SA mapsets is something I NEVER want to be without again. Well, almost... a cellphone running Garmin Mobile XT :p

DO IT! Guaranteed two weeks later you'll wonder how you survived.

I also managed to find this road by mistake with my Nuvi...makes lfe interesting!! :D

:D

Reminds me of driving on the Long Tom heading towards Sabie with a shiny new Road Angel, set to shortest route. Every single plantation 'road' -
"Turn left in 100m"
"No"
"Turn left in 50m"
"NO!!"
"Please turn left now"
"#%@! OFF!!!!11!!1!"

Road Angel sucketh teh donkey nutz!

I have a 205w. It is a good unit. We get ripped off in SA for garmin units as I bought mine from amazon UK on a special for about R1500 and it included the traffic receiver aswell. Even paying R999 for southern africa maps it works out cheaper and you then get the UK maps included. Maybe a friend is returning from UK? There is no traffic service in SA so the traffic receiver is not much use here. I hope we will get a traffic service here some day as this is an incredible feature seeing all the traffic problems on the map.

Haha, once a rally driver, always a rally driver. Now you are blaming the Nuvi taking you off-road. I think you just wanted to test the bundu bashing ability of the Polo. :erm::D:D
