Don't worry about the voltage it's pushing in or out.. it will vary. Read somewhere that some folks got 280v :wtf:
237v out is fine.

Yeah in my area the voltage varies all the time. Sometimes going up to 300v. My UPS (RCT 2000) does not like anything over 275V and goes into battery mode and shuts my computer down after a few minutes.

Hi Dan C...How are u finding that battery monitor, do they work well ?

It works fine, but during loadshedding it the reading seems a bit wrong. Maybe because the inverter is pulling a lot of power from the batteries at the time. Once I switch off the inverter it shows correctly again.

Today I added a 96 Ah battery to the 100 Ah one I had as the 100 Ah went down to 50% discharge in 1 hour...on a 1200 VA inverter with load on 2 bars.
Both were fully charged when I started the test.
When the power was switched off it stayed on 4 bars voltage for +- 3 minutes then went to 3 bars with voltage at 12.44 v
1 hour 3 bars 12.34v
1.5 hr 3 bars 12.25v
2 hr 3 bars 12.16v
2.25 hr 2 bars 12.09v which I reckon is 50% discharge so switched mains back on.

Thanks for the reply Dan C...Is the whole point of that monitor, not so u can make sure your battery doesn't drop too low during load shedding, so if it's inaccurate, how does it help ?

Yes I noticed this too. The battery monitor shows less than 50% whilst the battery is being used after only 1 hour and then when you switch the inverter off after 2 hours it shows above 50%

Can anyone confirm if this is the norm?

I guess it was not meant for what we wanted it use it for :(

I called National Luna to query this, and the guy told me it shouldn't be doing that unless it's being connected to the inverter, and not directly to the battery....he said it shouldn't be inaccurate....but the way I see it obviously there is an issue if more than one person is complaining

I got it connected straight to the battery. Only thing I did not do is install the in-line fuse that they recommend, but I can't see that making any difference.

Also don't know what he means by connecting it to the inverter. The inverter is connected to the batteries and the monitor to the batteries at the same time in any case.

No loadshedding for the past few weeks. Looks like eskom has everything under control???

Is it fine to leave my batteries permanently on charge through the inverter. Or do I have to disconect them?

Hi All. I have the 2400 Mecer. It is running like an UPS. When the power goes off, anything connected goes off and then comes back on again. I have 2 lights, 32inchLCD, explora decoder and a soundbar connected.

Any idea's?

a genuine UPS does not allow anything to shut off. Heck most inverters as well.

My inverter keeps the decoders,pc's and tv's running. My lights give a quick flick and that's how I know power cut ( when I'm looking out for the scheduled cut ).

When I had a UPS, no interference even with lights.

This should not happen. Only if inverter is on standby mode, this will happen.

Used to happen with my LCD TV on as well with my ellies 1200w inverter.
I then replaced my TV with a LED TV, problem solved.

I put it down to, the LCD TV drawing too much power (230w on top other stuff) on the inverter and the switch-over relay failing.
