Key Responsibilities
• Creates Test Cases and Test Plans according to requirements
• Testing Oracle Applications: Web, Mobile, USSD, SMS
• Conducts Test Cases and Test Plan Reviews
• Defect Logging & Tracking
• Collaborate with other Test team members to ensure high quality releases
• Participate in defining test approaches, test -plans, release and maintenance
• Perform black box testing and white box testing
• Test in fast-paced environment with both long and short development cycles
• Planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts
• Perform functional, regression testing and performance testing
• Test usability of applications e.g. validating UI design
Functional competencies
• Knowledge of Agile Software Development Practices such as Scrum
• Documentation writing skills
• Knowledge and understanding of testing methodologies
• Practical experience writing and executing Unit Tests
• Practical experience using SOAP UI, Visual Studio or Eclipse
• Solid knowledge working with a Test Case management tool such as Microsoft Test
• Manager (MTM) or other
• Experience with JIRA or any other issue tracking tools
• Ability to challenge the development team on software quality, software performance best practices and design
• Do Research and Development in the Testing space and have the ability to pass this information on to the rest of the team
• Experience testing Mobile Applications, Mobile Web Applications, WAP sites, Web Applications, USSD applications and SMS applications
• SQL and Oracle Database Knowledge (an advantage), e.g. writing PL-SQL queries
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) (an advantage)
Experience
• At least 3-5 years testing experience
• 2 years testing experience of Oracle applications (preferred)
Qualifications
• 3 Year IT degree / diploma an advantage
• International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certified (preferred)
