So at exactly 12 my connection drops, reconnects, 1 minute later, drops again, does that 6 times in a row, then, no tower 126 (radiokop)

Called Support, phone went dead, phone again, some pissant of an orc answers. Asks him what is up.

Apparently there is scheduled maintaince on that tower, just checked their bulliten board, nothing. I asked him why it wasn't on their bulliten board as I havent checked it in a while (before I checked it now) and why we don't get emails stating this...

His reason, people have so many email addresses that they rather put up a bulliten board... wtf? Don't you get a free email address with your MyWireless? At least send it to that?

This is ****ing stupid... Definatly going to be raised with Casper himself... I'm sick of their lying... I'm going to get him to pull that tape... IF they even record the ****ing ****

****

Hell, my gran on a scooter with a memory stick is faster than Sentech's MyWireless!

Yep. While you're on the phone, ask him why Sentech customers don't get 2 months free compensation, but Nowire customers do.

I already demanded that I get compensated in the same way. You should too, especially as you're on the 512 package. Speaking of which, hows your speeds? 128k seems fixed... *hopes it stays this way*

noone, the only ticket I have outstanding is regarding the maint problem - as you say its no big deal to send out emails to our Sentech boxes if just to say that their web site notice has been updated (but then they may as well post the notice as email).

If subscribable mailing lists were set up, those of us who wanted to be kept informed could be without any effort on their part!

MyWireless Antennae Maintenance: 13 September - 13 October

During the period of 13 September to 13 October all the MyWireless Antennaes will have lightning protection installations and various other hardware upgrades completed. The schedule has been spread over the period with an average of two to four antennaes being upgraded each day. The maintenance will be performed between 04:00 and 08:00.

Customers may experience some degraded throughput, however it is estimated that the actual impact on customer services will be very low.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
The orc who wrote this didn't make it clear enough: there is ongoing maintenance up until 13 October, but only between 4am and 8am. The orc who you spoke to was only partially correct. And the orcs who fix the towers are obviously the type who can survive direct sunlight at midday.

Have you noticed how they talk about "antennae" when they mean one antenna or many antennae? And antennaes must be orc-speak because it's not in Webster's.

That's why they are called orcs.[:D]

BTW, 128 is "fixed" in that you can visit most web pages that would work on a 56k modem.[xx(] When you try to listen to the BBC Realaudio stream, it seldom goes above 9k and it dies fairly often. So I have to listen on my 33.6k modem. Then it works fine. Sheesh!

I guess the orc who wrote the bandwidth management (i.e. throttling) program didn't think to exclude their own speed test program. Remember, the reason why it's "always on" is because downloads take longer.
