Nicely set up thread. These would be my choices. I don't think they will be the actual winners in a lot of cases but I do feel like it was a pretty great year for films.

Best Picture:
Parasite

Leading Actor:
Antonio Banderas (he is outstanding in Pain and Glory, which is also a great movie that deserves better recognition)

Supporting Actor:
Joe Pesci (Irishman)

Leading Actress:
Scarlett Johansson (Marriage Story)

Supporting Actress:
Laura Dern (Marriage Story)

Director:
Bong Joon Ho (Parasite)

Cinematography:
The Irishman but I haven't seen 1917. Irishman had excellent cinematography though

Editor:
Yang Jinmo (Parasite)

Writing Adapted:
Little Women (for reframing the narrative in unconventional and surprising ways)

Writing Original:
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Animated Feature:
Toy Story 4

Costume Design:
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

I don't care about the rest tbh

"Hunt for the Wilder people" and "What we do in the Shadows" were better movies than JoJo Rabbit. if you haven't seen those Taika Waititi movies, then you go watch them now.

Hmm. I've only seen 2 of the nominated pictures. Will need to remedy that.

Pretty shocked that Parasite won pretty much everything + Netflix loses out on pretty much everything.

Must have been all that laughing. Oscars guys love that stuff
And dramatic weight loss.

Supporting winners an abomination and Taika over The Irishman. Wtf. Netflix is like the enemy.

I thought they'll leave Parasite as foreign language winner and not both. A bit of a slap in the face for the Yanks, or maybe it was just that good.

Except Laura Dern

I’m really happy about Parasite winning Best Picture. It’s well deserved. I actually mostly agree with the Best Picture winners for the past 4-5 years. I didn't like Birdman that much though
