Hi, On telkom landline account I subscribe to the option "telkom anytime" which does not bill me for local calls. However there is a section on my itemised bill for "mobile operators" as well as "other operators" which I am billed for. The mobile operators I can recognise however the "other operators" whose numbers can start with 011 or 012 and that seem like local telkom lines are difficult to distinguish from local telkom landlines. Thus when making calls for example with a number starting with 011....., I would like to know prior to making the call if this is a telkom landline or one of the "other operators".Any ideas as to how to distinguish the difference?

I think that those other operators refers to Neotel etc and are charges differently. There may be a quick double beep after you have dialed the number before it rings to let you know that you are 'going off network ". I do not know of a way to check before you dial

^this is correct.

After you have dialled the number and just before it starts with the ringing tone, you will hear two beeps.

Other operators refers to Neotel as well as VOIP and also the premium service numbers, eg.. 086, 087, etc.

Thanks... this will help in identifying and avoiding long conversations on "other operators" calls.
