By early 1992 Olivetti South Africa as a full subsidiary of Olivetti Italy already had it's own dedicated Internet link. To my knowledge this was the first "commercial" Internet link into SA. Mark Elkins (current CEO of Posix) set it up and managed it for many years. Their domain was olivetti.za There was not even a "co.za" back then.

Hehe, this is like sitting in a retirement home's lounge, sharing stories of bygone years. I accessed the Internet first in December 1994 on a beta version of Windows 95, using a 14400 modem via the MSN dial-up service.
