For myself. Second one, more cores than first. Cheaper than others. Bigger screen than others,

Don't go Intel is my advice. Get something with decent battery life i.e. Ryzen.

For a Lawyer, there isn’t anything a mac won’t run.
I’d verify that first, it could be an expensive mistake. Don’t forget there could be plenty of Uni software on that list. I’d also pick a Mac if I didn’t need support or could be sure it’d work. Battery life won’t be beaten.

I would avoid the yoga series, not built for wear and tear like an enterprise laptop.

EDIT: To clarify a bit more. The hinges are metal, but they fit into the plastic frame of the laptop. With the many small bumps and scrapes of student life and travel, the plastic cracks over time and the metal hinge pulls out of the frame of the laptop. This happened to a lot of the first unibody MacBook's, until they went to an actual metal unibody years later. When it fails, it can be quite bad as it damages the screen or motherboard depending on which side breaks first.

The manufacturers do it to save some cost and likely to make sure the laptop does not last long beyond its warranty.

Uni software is probably going to be browser based.

Here is another enterprise laptop for consideration:

BEWARE PLASTIC LAPTOPS
I don't consider the 3000 series latitude laptops enterprise grade. The frame is plastic like the Inspiron consumer laptops, so they break and crack easily.

This laptop is well reviewed for students. Arm processor means MacBook levels of battery life (when windows is behaving). It also has 32GB RAM and a large battery. not sure what the student reward is, but it could mean an R2000 discount.
Do note that like with Apple, not all software will run well on the arm processor for a few years still. But if they are just going to be doing normal browser and office things on the laptop, it should be fine.

BUY ENOUGH RAM
best to avoid windows laptops with only 16GB RAM. they won't last 5-7 years the way app and website bloat is going. 16GB is barely doing the job if you do anything more than light multi-tasking. remember that because of Apple, even PC's are no longer upgradable.

Same story with 8GB MacBook's. This OS uses less RAM than windows, but the apps use the same, so you will need to buy 16GB today if you still want it to be a pleasant experience in 3-4 years. Consider 16GB the recommended base spec mac and 32GB for windows.

BANG FOR BUCK
That said, if you want bang for buck over a 3 year period, its tough to beat this deal at R13000:

Just make sure it's a 16GB model. Their SKU is for the 16GB model and the page says 16GB, but their URL says something about 8GB. 8GB on windows is disastrous. After 3 years, you can always try Linux on it and get ram efficiency even better than a Mac.

Just check some of them say Demo. So you need to check how much of the 3 year warranty you still have left. Also make sure you complete a transfer of ownership.

Make sure you know who the previous owner was and make sure you are doing a transfer of ownership for the warranty. You need the company name and the postal/zip code.
This is not an issue if only repairs is done, you just need the service tag, but if it happens that a warranty repair does not fix the issue , Dell will replace the unit but only if you are the registered owner and have completed the asset-transfer.

Also make sure it comes with the original charger that was shipped with the laptop. Dell will ask for a photo of the original charger next to the laptop as proof that it was not stolen.

The same goes for if it is sold as new.

If a seller cannot provide this info. Walk away, or at least know the risk if you proceed.

Are there any business grade laptops that have 120hz screens?

Not quite business grade, more like macbook grade. Screen ia probably the best screen in a laptop today.

This one is enterprise grade:
