Does anyone know a program that will synchronise Outlook contacts and calendar to a cell phone. I am looking for a "generic" program so that we dont have to have a different program for each phone in the organisation.
I have read the notes on Activesync but it seems to only work for smartphones running "Windows".

I would have thought there would be tonnes of stuff on the web but I have not found anything that does a common or garden cell phone to Outlook.

thanks
P

Smartphone??

A Smartphone is a cellphone that has a Windows Mobile operating system.
Anything else is not a Smartphone.
What phone do you have?

Operating systems

The most common operating systems (OS) used by smartphones are Symbian, Palm OS (developed by PalmSource), Windows Mobile (formerly known as Windows CE, and developed by Microsoft), and Linux.
EDIT - This can be illustrated by the Palm Treo "Smartphone" series. The Treo 700p runs Palm OS while the Treo 700w runs windows.

EDIT 2 - have a look at Oxygen Phone Manager. http://www.oxygensoftware.com/en/default.asp

Common belief here is that any phone having mail and calendar capabilities is a smart phone eg Nokia 6680 Sony Ericsson v800 etc.

I am having a look at the Oxygen software..
