To warm up for the demands of watching live coverage of four Test matches on Saturday, rugby enthusiasts can tune into four hours of action on Friday evening.

The battle of the hemispheres continues when South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Argentina face Scotland, Ireland, England and Italy on Saturday. This adds up to a main course of more than five hours of live rugby coverage on the SuperSport channels.

Last week, it was 3-2 to the southern hemisphere, with the Springboks, the All Blacks and the Wallabies beating Wales, Scotland and Italy. France held off Argentina and England won against the Pacific Islands.

The Springboks are two victories away from an “all’s well that ends well” finish to the year. Coverage of their match in Edinburgh starts at 16:00 on M-Net and SuperSport 1 on DStv.

Broadcast details of the other matches on Saturday are: New Zealand v Ireland (19:00 on CSN and SS 1), Australia against England (16:15 on SS 7) and Italy versus Argentina (15:45 on SS 6).

Friday night’s starters are: Wales against Canada (21:15 on SS 5), Montpellier against Paris in a French Top 14 match (21:25 on SS 6) and Sale and Worcester in a Guinness Premiership showdown (21:55 on SS 1).

Delayed coverage of the match between France and the Pacific Islanders will be on CSN and SS 1 from 21:45 on Saturday.

Viewers who watch the match between South Africa and Scotland will have three commentary options.

Matthew Pearce and Kobus Wiese will provide English commentary from Edinburgh and Joost van der Westhuizen and John van Rensburg will do the Afrikaans commentary from the Randburg studios.

This week, however, viewers can also tune in to Sky TV’s commentary by selecting the third option offered on the screen when they press the audio button on the remote control.

One-hour highlights packages of each of the six internationals will be shown on SuperSport 7 between 11:00 and 17:00 on Sunday.
