The politicians will always point the fingers at anyone but themself. That's whats the worst of it all.

My favourite part of the movie. other than the scene where he gave the bank his house keys back.

And the funny part at the end, his college boss becomes the pizza delivery guy.

These stats back up something we've all known for a very longtime. This country stinks of mediocrity, the leadership haven't got a fckn clue, and unless we manage to vote the ANC out, we're all doomed.

I agree with you, but I dont think it may be the staff. But the leadership itself is bad.

Lets get rid of all the politicians and rather hire people that know how to do the job, whether they have college or just a matric. As long as they can do it properly

Yes, John was never fond of school but in his defence he is a politician, which is different to what we are talking about here.

Don't see the problem if they can do the job. Many people in industry don't have the formal qualifications but seem to do just fine. Many right here on hallowed MyBB.
True, many matriculants (and lower) in management positions in this country.

Now ask how many have security clearance.

...everyone and their dog. Never worked out why but I assume they get paid extra if they do?

Raise your hand if you are not qualified for your job

I have no problem if they have the degree or not. A lot of people with degrees spend all day polishing them and is honestly as stupid as a rock. So the paper doesnt really make any difference. Maybe rather than a witch hunt, the real question is, how many of those that has it, can actually do their job properly?

It reminds me of the movie with Tom Hanks called "Larry Crowne" He was top employee in his company for an entire year, but because he didnt have a college degree they had to fire him (because they couldnt promote him to a senior role). Yet top employee really?

A lot of the founders that ran mega companies dont have degrees. But yet they build billion dollar companies (Because they actually could do their jobs without the silly piece of paper.)

Evan Williams (Twitter)
Bill Gates (Microsoft)
Richard Branson (Virgin)
Steve Jobs (Apple)
Steve Wozniak (Apple)
Henry Ford (Ford)
Michael Dell (Dell)
Walt Disney (Disney)
Larry Ellison (Oracle)
Sheldon Adelson (Las Vegas Sands)
Ralph Lauren (Ralph Lauren)
Coco Chanel (Chanel)
Simon Cowell (Need we even ask?)
James Cameron
Steven Spielberg

So in all honestly. If they can do the job, and they do it well, then take this requirements and shove it in the bin. However if they have a degree or not, and they aint performing then well you can go after them for poor performance.

And honestly, DA do you not have anything better to do than point fingers at people? Its not like your cadres are actually doing much better. When you are having problems to deal with, all your colleague degree workers just get the non-colleague degree workers to do it anyway, while they point their fingers at someone else.

You dont need a PhD to figure that out. I honestly am getting so tired of the drivel from the DA.

So I rate the ANC 1/10
The DA is 2/10

Both are really terrible scores. But at least the ANC is trying. What are you doing other than spend millions on analysts that dont actually tell us any real facts. Other than. We have a degree and they dont. Well tell it to my long list of people. They will just laugh at you.
Uhm I think maybe you are confusing things a bit here. You have people with the ability to get a degree but chose not to (your well-researched list) and then you have those that just don't have the ability to go beyond grade 5. If you are put into a position of power and your first plan of action is to steal as much as you possibly can then you clearly fall into the second category. If you had the ability to educate yourself then you would as a minimum go in with a build now, steal later attitude.

I agree that you don't need an expensive degree to build up a company and run it but the proof is in the pudding: Has the ANC shown that they can successfully govern (not rule) South Africa from the ground up?
I am pretty sure the resounding answer to that is a solid NOPE.

We don't need a bloody government that continually "tries" to get things right - playing politics is one thing but successful service delivery and rooting out corruption is a completely different kettle of fish. It takes hard work and dedication to do things right - something the ANC just can't get right! When looking at our metro (Tshwane) the DA is doing a much better job at "trying" than the ANC ever has.

Tshwane is actually a good example why the DA does not have the moral high ground to look down on the ANC for employing cadres and unqualified people.

And I get the feeling you are talking about your immediate areas which were most probably not that bad even when teANC was in charge, the rest of Tshwane is a mess that is getting worse every day, I won't necessarily blame the DA for that but the DA didn't exactly go out of their way to make things better for the areas that were already getting the worst service delivery under the ANC.
