It is not a hullabaloo about nothing. Take a look at the history of the ANC leaders who lead the country. Look at where the country is today. This is what uneducated leaders do to a country.
Just wish to point out that
apparently rob mugabe was well educated, but was still instrumental, with others, in causing the economic decline of zim. Education is a reasonable indicator of potential success and capability, but it is not a guarantee. Having said all that, it's more of an exception than the norm. Having education (and experience) is far more preferable than none, given the option of choosing an educated surgeon vs an uneducated surgeon, both with minimal experience, for your surgery, I'm sure we all know which option is more likely to be chosen.
For the millionth time, there are no educational qualifications requirements for a politician, even one who is a President, until we actually have such a requirement the whole Zuma and his primary education thing is much hullabaloo about nothing.
There should be one, and there should also be an upper age limit like say retirement age, to qualify to be president, minister, or some other high level department. These people are making decisions that affect millions of people, you would want someone who can understand the multiple complexities of the various industries and demography in order to make the best decisions. Ideally the president should be able to grasp more than a basic understanding of each of the portfolios the ministers handle.
