P2P Sentech... Local is Lekker

So Inernational band is bad.....

They had the decency of letting us keep some local

We all have a Sentech modem, connected to a Sentech tower, connecting us to a Sentech pool of Bandwidth and collectively we OWN it all.....

LETS use it then.... I was thinking, WE browse the net, we download email, and occassionally we download something from overseas....

Other than that what do we do?

We already have a nice WAN setup, all we need is the right things to help each other talk so that we can share files.... seeing as Sentech to Sentech is NICE and FAST... their speed test shows that...

SO I propose we do just that.... I go download something and share it with the rest of the network, someone else downloads something else, and so it goes and we all create a sharing is caring network not becuase WE want to but because WE have to.

Sentech to Sentech you get your paid speed.... Sentech to ANYTHING else is choked to death by new and improved "bandwidth management"...

Anyone know where one can get a nice program which we can test out this idea... Sentech to Sentech and share some files accross the network... this might even make up for a bit of their lies and junk...

local might even turn out to be lekker.

We have local bandwidth, why not use it.... Sentech wont tell me WHEN they are going to get their crap together, I am going to be able to update jack because its hosted in the US, I cant even do much work as Sentech is on a go-slow, NoWire cant tell me jack because they are like Mini-me.....

They arent returning my calls so what is left is to find solutions to THEIR problems in their system... set up base camp and get comfy and share some files I say...

Anyone that knows how to make a system like this work tell me how and lets see if this can work....

It sounds like you are basically talking about a DC hub. Yes, we definitely need more ways to 'keep it local' w.r.t. bandwidth usage, even in general.

There is already a HUGE local p2p scene ... if you know where to look.

Dont reinvent the wheel ... join the existing ones and make em better.

you want to give people the incentive to make your PROFIT more....

make them able to DO all the stuff they want LOCAL and international except you make your nasty CRAP happen international and keep local = FREE TRADE but you SET the SERVICE UP properly so that your "upgrades" wont affect US...
