Bwahahahaha! If that becomes the minimum figure by law, you will have a loooot more people cleaning their own homes and a lot more unemployed people.

If that became the minimum very few people would be able to afford a domestic. Most domestics will lose their jobs. If that's what they want then I have no problem with it. I don't have one now in any case can't even afford it as is.

Have you ever been to Pietermaritzburg? Wouldn't R8k a month put you on the top 2% salary earners in that village...?

Watch out. I got a negative rep the last time I made a comment about that region.

Question mark behind = rhetorical. No?

:D

Aside: How many Positive Rep points do I need for a myBB hoodie?

No problem PACSA, right on it..

Bit of a warning though, it might mean more than 60% of domestic workers get let go though...

Lower Middle class people should have no business having luxuries like domestic workers...It's absurd that they do.

Not great for those that will lose their jobs, but still...

I don't disagree in theory.. but practice and reality paint a different story...

The impact of doing something like this would be devastating to the lower class in this country.

Because there is dignity in unemployment.

Why not give everyone in SA a basic income grant of R8000 a month? All that money going around surely will kick start the economy.

The entire argument is based around the wages for employed black people being high enough to cover the unemployed black people.

Wtf logic is that.
