Good day. I was wondering if anyone could help/give some advice. Two weeks ago, blood was drawn from my arm, on the underside of my elbow. When the guy inserted the needle, i felt a sharp pain through my wrist. It’s now two weeks and every time I stretch my arm out straight or move my wrist in a certain way, I feel the sharp pain in my wrist. It almost feels like a damaged nerve but I am not sure. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks in advance

Sounds like you may have a nerve injury, with pain/sensation lasting between 1 - 6 months. Would consult a doctor.

Why there? Sounds like an extremely weird place to draw blood?

99% of the time it's drawn from the Cephalic or Basilic veins.

Exactly the oposite of
on the underside of my elbow.

I think he means the inside of his elbow perhaps.

I once had a pain so bad after the nurse put the needle in my arm, felt like my entire half of my body was on fire

I find that when drawing, don't clutch the pencil so hard..

What does the doctor say?

Also I bet you SANBS won't cover the medical fees.

Understand that not everyone who draws blood as a profession is an expert at it.

They're sticking a long and sharp pointy thing into you, hoping to hit a vein which itself is very small. It's an art to strike first time without any pain to the patient.

I've had phlebotomists try to seek veins out and accidentally hit the bone. I've had times when they've messed up and my entire arm went blue and bruised.

Anything is possible.

That said OP, stop asking us and go see a GP.
