Does anyone have experience with painting ceramic tiles?

I currently don't have the money nor the energy to redo the bathrooms after completing extensive renovations over the last 6 months (bathrooms are the most expensive reno exercises you can take on)

I want to spruce up the bathrooms which are not in a particularly bad shape, just a bit dull.

I'm particularly curios on what paint to use, how to prep the tiles and how to deal with painting the shower area (especially the shower floor).

I Youtubed a few vids, but most of them are in the US or Europe, and I don't know what the products are that they are using.

We did the same. You get a specific paint to use. The guys at builders warehouse helped us out. Prepping involves washing the tiles with sugar soap beforehand. Tip: Scratch out all the grouting before you paint, once the paint is dry, regrout and it will look like new tiles.

Thanks for that.

What did you scratch the grout out with, was it by any chance that special grout-removal drill bit that you get, or was it the hand-held grout remover (looks like a narrow file type thing).

And the shower walls and floor?

We just did the walls. Shower and the rest. No fancy tool, just an old flat point screw driver. Shower floor we re did with mosaic.
