I think I had one of these when I chased away some bloke walking up our secluded driveway at night. I actually got out of the shower with purpose and wrapped a towel around me and walked to other side of house to the balcony to go and find him

Possibly. Its intriguing though because most of things things have obvious flaws, this one doesn't. So even if it does turn out to be wrong its a "superior" kind of wrong.

I think the main test for this will come when someone uses the same method and repeats the experiments. If the same result comes out then there is something orsm!

The paper, due to appear in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology

New Scientist happens to be the site that broke the news. If that is somehow below you then you could just read the raw study text.

As a matter of fact I did read it. I also noticed the failed experiment to reproduce the results, with limitations I admit but hey the reviewers recommended amendments to the original paper too. I just choose to take it with a pinch of salt as effect occuring before cause violates many principles of currently accepted quantum physics. Publication in a peer reviewed journal is nowhere near confirmation as far as I'm concerned. Even publications in Nature have been debunked before. I'm just saying not to get too exited about this, at least for now
