In USA, watching the construction/home builders youtube channels, they all use maths on a regular basis, to determine the angle of cuts, lengths etc. Not complicated but does need a bit of thinking.
Seen something similar in South Africa. First the foreman studying the plan intently, next an assistant, then more ... later a mob and a lot of talking and arguing.

Well, it was the building contractor's loss that he was MIA and I ended up with extensions 1.5m longer, where he had to pay for plan alterations etc. :p

If you want to join two pieces of wood nicely at non-right angles, you actually need to have a good understanding of geometry.
Oh yawn, you just mark the damn thing and cut it with the right tools, you people are getting carried away with this maths thing.

I present @TheChamp's grade12 carpentry project, a bookshelf.

It's on TV, that's how making content works, you don't just get on with it, you must spend 5 minutes studying the plans that you already understand, then call the assistant who also already understands the plans to discuss them even more, that's at least 20 minutes of the show.

The labour comes in and starts solving problems that do not exist and use their fancy tools and talk about angles for another 15 minutes, that's how good TV shows are made.

OT, FTFY on a bright spark: A guy I met do magic from his back yard, after the agents threw their hands into the air and many ZARs later, another agent putting me onto his trail. You have to book ~ 2 months in advance, competing with agents. Since then he's helped me a few times, I referred friends to him, everybody is happy.

Last incident with a friend: Out of answers, GM wanted to replace an ECU. Solution? Reconnect a wire a mouse had chewed through, a bit of insulation tape and he chased my friend away, ready to pay.

Herman, Centurion's secret weapon against auto-gremlins, big or small.

Those guys are usually qualified and many agents send work to them. It's because agents refuse to employ properly qualified mechanics and send their senior new parts fitters on computer diagnostics courses. The new parts fitters are exactly that and use hit and miss diagnostics. They cannot diagnose like a properly trained and qualified mechanic. And you will pay for every miss.
