Why do domestic flights serve food anyways? Most people can do two hours without eating.
Quick set the unions on this one. He is proposing job cuts.

Pro vita in a plastic container will probably be fine for most domestic flights.

Are you allowed to take more than 100 Ml of liquid?
Or is that only banned on US flights?

I avoid SAA.
I prefer Kulula/BA for domestic flights myself. And the local domestic flights are so short anyway that a bottle of water is more than adequate.
And on a international flight - a packed meal could be nice, but hey - BA or Air France is a much nicer option.

Plus it's easy enough to get access to an airport lounge where you can stuff your face so full that you can barely waddle up to your exit gate.

WRT why it exists on domestic (or 1-3hr).. You can charge customers more per "bundle" ticket.

I think this is a legacy airline sale if u think about it and in many ways it's silly. For longer flights, morning/evening the breakfast/dinner is awesome as you've been on flight for a while. Wish airlines had a more dynamic booking system.. or a few seats that supported dynamically booking <24hrs. maybe 5 or so seats on midday and late flight.

It is to keep the peace.

Adults are no different than children. If they are not fed they get angry and irritated by small things.

I made the mistake once of sitting and working at Cape Town International's Mugg n Bean while waiting for my flight.
While drinking their Bottomless Lemonade. 4 glasses in - my flight was called. Shortly after take-off I urgently needed the bathroom. Never had it taken so long to reach cruising altitude.

Yeah I never understood why people need to be fed on short flights. I almost never eat on a plane. I usually just have something to drink while everyone else is sitting there in the air stuffing their faces

Because I must be PAMPERED on this flight! It may be one hour in cattle class but I paid for this flight and there is meant to be food available so I'm going to eat that food! If massage therapists came standard I'd eat them too! /entitled rant

But yes, totally agree with you.

Arrgh, that's me and Windhoek Lager after every visit to the SLOW lounge!
