Hi,

We have 10 pastel Partner and 3 pastel payroll users on the same server. Were currently using Pervasive workgroup 10 and thinking of moving Pervasive client server. What I would like to know is it is worth it to pay about R20,000 to upgrade to client server? will it make pastel runner faster or would it be better to get a server with higher specs.

we're also think of separating Pastel partner and payroll .

Any advice to get pastel to work faster will be appreciated

Thanks in Advance

The standard rule is always more than five people to use client server.

You dont need to move Payroll off the server. I run a site with 25 Pastel Partner users and 5 Payroll users and they all run off the same server.

I've seen more performance improvement by making sure everyone runs on a gigabit network, and if your server can do NIC teaming then do it, the more bandwidth the better.

Drop partner , spend the extra 5k or so, and go for evolution, uses me sql, way more stable than that pervasive crap
