I've started puttering around in GW2 again. Very casual and restarted a character (actually creating and testing a few until I settle on one I like).

The odd thing with GW2 is that I cannot remember why I quit the game (a few times actually) as every time I fire it up again, I instantly like it (although my work keeps me away from it for ages at a time).

I like the shared bank, similar to other games, and it was great to come back to lots of crafting mats.

The other thing is that there are still plenty of people around and you always see quite a few people running around in the starting zones.

Anyway, I'll putter around a bit and see how it goes.

Thats what I love about Guild Wars the easy pick up and go. No gear hunting, no leveling for new content. Just pick up where you left it and go on. I like their monetizing model as well. Free to play (mostly pay to look) with added buying of the expansion you want to add. No need to buy both if you don't wanna play both.

I stopped playing back in April or around there. Picked it up again on launch of PoF and loving the mounts. I paused cause HoT was not my style. The multi level maps was just not my style (Go 2 levels down then to that corner then one level up to get to that piece of the map crap)

PoF is just pure awesome, and they way they did mounts just is just win. Unlike WoW where you have 1 mount and 400+ skins the GW2 mounts actually varies in skills and I see myself swapping all the time depending on what I need to do. Finished the story last night on my Necro, now the real game starts. I am looking forward to actually explore and collect this time round.

I didn't even notice the Guild Wars forum!

I've started playing this. I have no idea what I am doing so far, and aside from a brief go at WoW back in the day, my first foray into MMORPGs.

Got HoT and PoF and around level 40. The levelling process is taking a while.

I am trying to go through the story quests in order but i am finding HoT's a pain, so might just skip it to get to PoF. must say i am properly loving this game again!

I did that on all my alts. Main did HoT story and that was the 1st and last time I did it. I did try and fill masteries as far as I could but gave up when most skills where at 3 or 4. Have no urge to top them out. PoF on the other hand My mounts gonna get full trees no problem.

The Living world pre PoF is worth farming for Ascended trinkets and rings and luckily not such a pain.

Did not know either, only saw it now when I was wondering if I am the only SA player. At least leveling is not such a pain as other MMO's and to add insult to injury other normally up the level cap every expansion. Soooooo Glad GW's skip that part and just add "new skills/abilities" that you level via rewards you get on maps.

Well after a bit of a hiatus (work saw me sitting in a tent in the bush for a few weeks), I'll fire up GW this coming week and see what I still have to do in HoT or perhaps just skip and go straight to PoF.

Skip HoT, PoF mounts are waaaay more fun, and can work when you go back to HoT

That is correct, but thats only the cash sink for it. You need to 1st have level 3 Skinner or Jumper, then you need to do loads of collecting and slaying. then you need to level Griffen to 3 to be able to fly like the vid.

Sounds like a lot but did it all on Saturday so not all that bad. Plus I followed a nice easy guide to get me fast paced --> http://dulfy.net/2017/09/24/gw2-griffon-mount-collections-guide/
