Pause for a moment and snap a quick pic - The Mobile Photography Thread

So found something old. My old lady is coming to stay with us and cleaning out the closet, she found a old award/trophy from my grandfather , circa 1940-1950.

Thought it a interesting bit of memorabilia so snapped a pic. Oh, and its also made of solid copper :oops: . Its a award for the highest safety in the mines, I think as team lead or something.

Interesting, thanks. Never seen those. Imagine having to do the bearing maintenance on that rig.
 
On my way down the mountain we passed a few dozen bakkies with water tanks and one big water tanker that seemed like it could supply the whole of Colesberg with water. Amazing to see the coordination among locals joining forces to put out the fire. Anyways we are back at the lodge. Time to drink.IMG20231027192121.jpgIMG20231027190817.jpg
