So found something old. My old lady is coming to stay with us and cleaning out the closet, she found a old award/trophy from my grandfather , circa 1940-1950.

Thought it a interesting bit of memorabilia so snapped a pic. Oh, and its also made of solid copper . Its a award for the highest safety in the mines, I think as team lead or something.

Keeps eluding me!

Today I was up at 6am instead of 5am so I had to cut my usual 70km short to a 50km.... and I missed it again. Seems to be operating from Langvlei which is part of my 70km route. Next time I will get you Mr Wednesday Morning Hot Air Balloon!

Dammit balloon - you are making me chase hot air!

Saw it was going to be a perfect sunrise with no wind so I klapped the road just after 5am heading to Langvlei to catch that balloon.

11km in at Joostenberg just before the N1....


Meanwhile at Langvlei all I got to see was a flippen dot on the horizon.


At least the sunrise was pretty.
