Yes, I've seen that. It doesn't deal at all with the factors I've mentioned, merely controlled shots on a tripod. Auto focus and low light performance is great, I've always stated so. The 6s has an amazing camera for most (lay) people. It is designed, with the software, to take great shots every time. But Apple have cheated in achieving this by using aggressive noise reduction which leads to a lack of sharpness and what I call 'blending' of colours. One of many issues with the 6s camera which controlled tests like these will never demonstrate.

Sure. Just thought it was a Nice comparison of the evolution of the iPhone camera.

If no one else minds me asking seeing as this is the mobile photo thread, I'd be interested to know what kind of app and editing apps people are using, and on which phone?

I either use Adobe Lightroom (free) or Photo studio Pro (paid for) depending what I want to do with the image.

I'm a purist, so editing and cropping etc. would detract from true photographic skills. My photos are all 'No 'Shop, no crop'.

That's a terrible argument PP, and I'm surprised you came out with it. For a start there's nothing pure about an iPhone JPEG (as you well know there is no RAW format) and more importantly, you can't make a bad picture great with editing.

Don't care, it's as the camera has shot it. As I've tapped to focus/adjust exposure, and as I've framed it. Pure as it gets from my iPhone's camera.

You certainly can make a bad photo good with editing...

It's not as the camera has shot it if it's a JPEG. The camera has shot it and the phone has edited it for you. There is no pure with an iPhone.

Anyway, wasn't meant to argue about it. Each to their own and all that.

Yip :)

I just use the default app and never bother editing either. But I bought Camera+ today to play about with and I just wondered what everyone else used.

I must still try Camera+ to see if it helps with the 6s issues.

I often take pictures while on the move so the horizon might not be straight and the framing no perfect. Thankfully I have so many pixels I can straighten and crop without loosing quality.
