Got a Smart Kicka 2 (Smart First 7) yesterday at Clicks. Just like the one before it uses a 1.3MP sensor and then interpolates to 2MP. You can see no difference in shots taken at 2MP or those downsized to 1280x960 afterwards. Lollipop at under R500 is what sells it.
