You had a first-half profit of R9.3 billion last year - top off your own tanks.

Surely NERSA cannot allow Eskom to strongarm/blackmail the public in this manner?! :wtf:

Eskom must 1st disconnect all the illeagal connection of power and those that are not paying for electricity.

They are taking power theft very lightly.

we are getting raped on diesel and coal prices which Eskom can procure directly from source, BUT choose to go through the massively inflated BEE connected routes, a deftly applied 'fkew' Eskom!

The staff should have their vehicles replaced with electric cars, that way when "power is constrained" they can back feed into the grid and walk home.

"power cuts and damage to the economy" yes I pick that one, but I want to see a reduction in the cost of electricity till your profit is negative and zero.

Pay more because the ANC is incompetent in other words.

Pay more so that we can use BEE coal and BEE engineers.

Yes, they will get their increase, but I doubt very highly it will make any difference to the "power cuts and damage to the economy". Will be interesting to see what bonuses they pay themselves this year.

What and anger the fragile voters of the current ANC regime.............. that will be the day.

They would rather bleed to honest hardworking citizens of this country dry first.

Cut the power, at least Eskom will have less money to throw around for nothing.

I thought they were meant to be switching over from Diesel to gas to save money. Or are they waiting to get the increase and then get the gas supply and pocket huge profits?

Not interested, come back to us with a better offer which includes cutting theft, over-spending and pay caps.

Sunbird still has the build the gas rigs at the Ibhubesi offshore field and the gas pipeline to Ankerlig. And Eskom has to convert Ankerlig to use LNG instead of diesel.
I think Q4 2016 was the expected date. But the agreement is still being finalised
