Hi there,

I know that we cannot accept money into our local paypal accounts - I am NOT opening that can of worms.

I would however like to know if there is a way of using my business account (linked to my UK bank account) to display & charge customers in RANDS?

Even though the cash is going into a foreign account, we would like to localise this as far as possible and looking into any help ???

Thanks in advance for your help.:)

Certainly possible, problem is with exchange rates.

You could show the amount in rands till they go pay, and right as you send them to paypal, just convert the rand value to the pound value (required for PayPal)

You can dynamically pull the latest exchange rate from one of yahoo's financial service webservices and convert it like that, or just have the value stored in your database somewhere.

However, any application on the web have to consider that the person finding it won't always be from the country you expect them to be. So I wrote something for wordpress (can be used elsewhere) that will take the default (pound) value and convert it into their local currency and display right next to it as an indicator of how much it is.

There's a million ways to skin a cat (and website)

So, with a bit more information we could push you in the right direction. :)

thanks for the response - sounds like converting the RAND value at the last minute before payment is the way to go...just finding the best way of automating this is the next challenge..

appreciate the response..
