PCSX/2 or an actual ps1 and ps2 combination?

Every time I go checkup on the progress of PCSX/2 its rather disappointing, leaving me the option of just getting an actual ps1 and ps2.

What would be a reasonable price for either and is it still worth it?

The motivation is simple, that's replaying some of the classics like silent hill1 or the original resident evil. But spending 1-2k just for that... lol.

I thought it works quite well, I can sort of play Gran Turismo 4 with it, and Tourist Trophy. My processor once powered the ark so its lacking but other than that I thought the emulator works well.

Why a combo? The PS2 was fully compatible with the PS one. Though you'll need a ps one memory card and controller

Not from what I read. Some titles, not 100% and that's if you have the fat and not the slim.

Yeah but it was about 15 games that had issues, some of them just required you to watch the intro sequence.

For some reason all emulators other than for Nintendo systems are behind. PCSX2 has always been terrible. Performance is not great and the GUI is woeful. IMO you're better off using a PS3 to emulate PS1 games because it adds some performance improvements
