Permanent Stage 2 load shedding an option - but Eskom decided against it, for now

So more and more people will find a way to get off the grid. That means lot less people will pay for Eskom service(or non service) eventually you will be left with people that cant / wont pay for eskom and the rest will be off the grid. Then I will assume that everyone that can still pay will be taxed for a service they dont use just like the SABC

Or how about Eskom simply being transparent.
If you watched Sunday's press briefing you would have heard that question asked. One of the journalists asked Eskom to put out a portal showing more detail, and Eskom said they're working on that. We'll see if it materialises. I am not sure what help it is going to be to the layman, but transparency is good.

It will give the average South African a better idea of the state of Eskom's generation fleet.

For example, are the units that are currently in that "unscheduled maintenance" pool the same units just sitting in there never being fixed, or are they leaving that pool then breaking down again later?

If there's just a pile of the same units that have been basically abandoned perpetually sitting in that "unscheduled maintenance" pool then I want to know that because it says to me that Eskom's generation pool is now forever under half what it used to be. I can then make an informed decision on what to do with respect to solar and such.

Every bit of transparency is needed right now...

Especially around things like the minutes of this National Energy Crisis Committee, they need to be published the day after the meetings.
The full action plan needs to be on a website with proper progress tracking, proper RACI, etc etc. It should all be in the public domain.

Better yet, it should be broadcasted live on TV.

They should just dedicate all their resources to stop load shedding. I don't care how opaque they are. I have got a family to look after & job to do like most. Hardly anytime to browse eskom site for transparency.

Given our governments track record, I 100% care how opaque it is... if its not transparent to the nth degree, then you know that less than 5% of the resources are actually being dedicated to fixing theproblem and the other 95% are being skimmed at various levels and fsck everyone else.

It is because of this track record, you will never ever know how transparent they really are so what is the point ?

I don't expect to personally have to look through what Eskom publishes. I expect watchdog organisations and journalists to do that.

They must put forward the data showing the status of every single power station in their fleet. If they're lying it is in the country's interest for there to be a published record of those lies to nail them to the wall with.

The point is cleverer people than me will be able to ascertain how transparent they are actually being and make it public as always, and every little bit of additional embarrassment for these incompetent fscktards is a good thing in the long run.

I don't know how Ramposer can go and stand in front of the international community anymore. His ANC-led government has virtually destroyed everything in this country.

Yes, I chatted to my fellow cadres and getting embarrassed is really heartbreaking for them. They told me they are completely shattered.

Ahhh their feelings I don't give 2 shytes about really... but the electorate is getting more and more gatvol of this, and its that embarrassment I am referring to. Each round of LS shaves a few more votes from the ANC.. and each additional lie or missed promise is another few votes.
