I took comprehensive insurance on my personal vehicle in January last year. The consultant asked the usual questions regarding what the vehicle is used for and came to the conclusion that I must insure it for business use based on my circumstances. As increase time is looming I wanted to get some quotes and I see that Naked Insurance still does not offer business use insurance but I would really like to try them out. So my question is, do the following circumstances really constitute business use of the vehicle?:
1. The vehicle is registered in my own name
2. I am an employee in a professional position
3. I use the vehicle mainly to drive between my home and the office
4. There are occasions where I may be required to drive to a different location to meet with a client
5. My job requires me to appear in court and of course I will use my vehicle to get there
6. If our driver is unavailable there are occasions where I may be required to deliver urgent documents or transport a client and/or staff member to a consultation.
If I were to insure for personal use and something were to happen while carrying out an activity listed under items 4-6 would that necessarily be grounds to repudiate a claim?
Any advice from those in the insurance world would be much appreciated.
