Hi all:)

This is a petition to get Vodacom to reduce data rates. Please add your name and comments to this petition. No cheating: only one digital signature per person. All other comments about this petition must be posted in the thead called :"R2per mb vs R0.50 per mb".

Considereding Vodacom has in excess of 20million subscribers, we will require a minimum of 1million digital signatures to even get their attention.

Only verifiable Vodacom subscribers (prepaid & contract) allowed.

I would like Vodacom to match Virgin's data rate of R0.50/mb on prepaid ad hoc and beat this rate on bundles (prepaid & contract). All those who agree as per the conditions above, add your digital signature (name & comment) to this thread.:D

Please tell all your friends and your friends's friends too.

United we stand, divided we fall. A revolution requires the support of the abused masses.

No, I'm not posting to sign this pettition - I know you asked that we post comments elsewhere, but this is a forum not a petition spot... nothing personal intended :)
but I think if you really want to start a petition you should do it on some petition site... (there's a few of them around) - most people won't want to have to register on a forum just to sign a petition.. ;)

Apart from that I find it a little strange to ask Vodacom to "match" VM price - if you like VM's price then why not just use them? After all that's really the best way to encourage competition...
If some company were to offer a 1Gbps uncapped unshaped service for R100 per month, but nobody (or very few) used their service and instead just "petitioned" Telkom to equal the offer they wouldn't really have much motivation to do so .. would they?

Please don't see this as a "personal attack" - it's not intended as one :)

You can't petition a BUSINESS to drop their prices or change their service offering. Maybe a government agency [as you are paying their salaries via taxes], but a profit driven company? I don't think so.

The only thing that will make Vodacom [or anyone else] adjust their prices is "demand" . The more people use an overpriced service while there is cheaper alternatives the LESS LIKELY it becomes for a price reduction. Only way is to stop using it.
