Ok...before you read on this is strictly Alfa Romeo...so if you are allergic to the word Alfa...pls don't read further!
Me took me Alfa to my machie a month ago to check out the persistent clutch problem...I changed the clutch master cylinder already and the car only has 77000km's on the clock and is 6 years old.
The clutch would get hard and soft like a young kid wathing porn all the time!
In the mornings it will be soft, with more use throughout the day, it would get hard....
So machie, who is good at Alfa's, could not find anything wrong with the clutch but me told him about the slippage at 5k rpm...(yes, the 147 can rev till there!
) he checked it all out and we unanamously said ze clutch must be replaced...
He took the gearbox out and the clutch and checked it out...no problems with it! It looks fine! He took the pressure plate to some ou who will now inspect it, maybe it went...
If the clutch is not the issue...what can be? I'm hoping it's slave seals...so I can get more cash to buy tyres!!!
