Phone internet profiles problem

Hi guys, I've got a Sony Ericsson K750i and I've got Opera Mini on it to access the net with but lately I've been having problems.

About once or twice a day Opera stops working and gives the internet network connection error. I've figured out that if I change my internet profile to another one (I have two, profiles VfLive and Vodacom) it works for a while again. But later I'd have to change my profile again.
And as you can imagine its not fun switching profiles the whole time.

This has started to happen with my MMS now as well. Does someone know whats up?

On my phone (motorola V1050) opera mini only works on the internet apn (Vodacom internet profile) while the standard browser works with both the internet as well as the vlive apn (Vodacom and Vlive profile). I read elsewhere on this forum that there is some kind of restriction on the vlive apn. ic or v3g should know more

Have exactly the same thing on my K750i - thought it was just me cause I saw no other mention on the forum.

Its happened to me about 3 times in the last week - usually for almost an entire day - that my email and any other GPRS related stuff bombs with a "Connection error - check your coverage" or something like that.

As Murphy would have it - its fine right now but his time yesterday I was completely unable to do anything GPRS related on my phone.

1. Vodacom has closed a loophole in there Vlive profile so if you use a 3rd party browser (read Opera Mini) your phone must be set to the vodacom.gprs gateway or internet APN. On the in built browser it auto routes you out of the vlive apn if your request something outside it.

2. Voda have been experiancing random disconects recently which has gotten better but if you got stuck in a disconect you had to close down opera wait a bit and relaunch.

You can get out onto the internet with either the internet or vlive apn's.

The fact that both Geriatrix and ambo see the same symptom with the same model, might point to a phone/browser specific issue but I've got no idea what it could be, some kind of caching issue. Maybe check what happens when you turn the proxy off?

The thought did cross my mind that they may be busy with something like that and it may affect connectivity. However - I'm using the built in email client on the phone with the 'internet' APN... have been doing so the whole way though my problems.

Its not a case of disconnects but rather failure to connect innitially.

Scratch that, I spoke too soon.
It happened again with surfing on Opera, but my MMS seems fine now.

my opera mini has never ever worked on the vlive APN

Initially I could not use the vlive APN with the Opera Browser. After downloading a later version (v8.6), both "internet.gprs" and "vlive" work... :D
