Phone not registered on Vodacom Network after 2 days

I was delivered a new phone and a new contract last week. Instead of sending a microsim, they sent through a normal sim.

I called and asked for a microsim which they delivered this past Monday. After spending a few hours on the phone to their call centres and after sales service over the past two days, my phone is still not registered on the network.

Any advice on who I can contact to sort this out would be appreciated.

Vodacom rep - some assistance would be most welcome.

Either PM Ockie to check the status of the SIM swap or go to a Vodashop.

I tried to message him, but am getting this message "Ockie has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her"

Ockie, if you see this please pm me! Thanks!

Ockie still seems blocked from receiving PM's.

Vodacom customer care seems non existent... they promised to call in order to sort it out. No progress.

Then go to a Vodashop or walk-in customer care. More than likely they processed a SIM swap for you when they issued the MicroSIM and someone didn't tick the correct boxes, store should be able to sort it out.

I have had a look and the sim swop has gone through on the 11th.

Date Time Code Detail Description User
2013-03-11 11:33:11 N2 SIM SWAP : OK Node To Node Transaction node2n

Please do a manual network search...select MTN and let it fail...do a new search and this select MTN....reboot phone. Sometimes this actually works.

Thanks Ockie. That's more information than I got out of the call centres.

I am doing the manual search at the moment. Will report back in a few minutes.

Some progress at last! It finally registered me on the Vodacom Network! And I was able to make and receive a call :) Thanks Ockie - I did as you suggested.

The only glitch now is that I have no internet connection. When I try to connect to the internet it says "Mobile Data is Disabled". Any suggestions? :)

I do not get a "3G" or other notification at the top of the phone.

Just a quick but big "Thank You" to Ockie for sorting out my problem in very, very little time.

With your intervention and assistance my phone is working as it should.

I owe you a drink at some point :)

It was a pleasure...I did not do anything though. I just provisioned you for LTE and told you to basically do a network location thingy majiggy update. :)

I also have the same problem, I was delivered a new Samsung Galaxy S4 from Vodacom and it is still saying 'phone not registered on the network'.

I have been contacting their call centre and they keep telling me that my sim-card is activated I must only switch the phone off and remove the sim-card for about 5 hours and I have been doing that for the past 2 days with no luck.

Can anyone please help.
