Greetings everyone, is there a phone currently, that is similar to Motorola defy? That is in terms of IP rating and not in the premium price range? Or any decent, in terms of durability, phone with the price up to 2k? Or am I dreaming too much?

Thank you, what was the total price, after all the shipment and import costs? Did you get some sort of protection for the screen and body?

The phone itself if ruggerised. Comes with a screen scratch protector factory installed and a spare one (just like all Doogee Phones). It also comes with 2 styles of back cover and side covers. My previous model had a good 2 year workout only cracking the glass recently when I dropped it on the corner of a tiled floor. Otherwise it got wet on many occasions (in my pocket in the rain on the bike) and once I had to hose it off as it landed in the cow s***. It got dropped many many times. They are tough phones and well made. I wouldn't submers them too often in water or drive over them, but if you want a phone that can handle farm life they are right for the job.

I paid R1850 and took the free delivery. I paid no duty or vat. Took 6 weeks: 1 week to get to JHB, 3 weeks of that at JHB international due to "backlog", 1 week to Durban and 1 week to my local post office (in the sticks).

Thank you very much for your reply and info, will definitely consider this option!

Xiaomi Mi phones are budget champions in that price range - definitely punch above their weight.

However, I don't think they have IP ratings in that price range (not even sure if any Xiaomi phones have IP ratings).

I'm on my second Xiaomi phone and very happy. One of the best things about them is the software support - you'll get regular software updates.

One of the Cat phones. Although they are not a good looking phone, but they are strong and durable.

I know you're a fan of the Doogee phones. Which model is this?
