Hi

What software do you guys use when stitching photos for a panoramic image?

I have tried Hugin, but wasn't successful at all. After several failed attempts, I ditched it, and looked for something else.

Found Autostitch. It's small, it's a demo, but boy, it worked for me!

Not the best, mind. Gotta practice some more and take lots more

And no, it's not a spam thread

I use Photosynth on my iPhone and it works really well. You can get it for the PC as well but I haven't used it.

Got it on a CD somewhere, but I'm at the office, and the CD is at the house somewhere. So I had to look at alternatives.

Have used Hugin with no problems, but am just getting into photo stitching, have a stack of pics that I took whilst overseas a couple of weeks ago specifically with the aim of stitching so will see how things go further.

About 8 gigs of ram ought to fix ur system bogging down, did the trick for me

The other day i stitched a 168Mp panoramic from about 30 15Mp tiff files DAMMMMMN did my pc bog down like never before. I just gave up and left it to do its thing! But I must say, autopano is seriously impressive! Especially when dealing with movement such as waves and people moving on a beach!

Try 16gb, I found that to be about right for most panoramas, I use Hugin (http://hugin.sourceforge.net/) now as it seems to be much less of a resource hog than autopano/autostitch
