Hi

I want to try a Phuket holiday during June/July this year with my wife. Can anyone that has been there recently provide some feedback on their experience?

Are the packages offered by flight centre worth it? Any other decent travel companies I can try?

Would you guys recommend it as a good holiday?

Thanks

Recently booked a trip to bangkok and phuket. Although I haven't been there I have heard good things about it.

If you do have the time then I would suggest booking the trip yourself as the agents I have went through couldn't come up with a cheaper price. You can pm me if you want to know anything else.

Lucky bugger..... :p

I think it's a great idea! I was there 2 years ago and cant wait to go back (if only i could afford it...). Helped my parents book their trip last year.

You are planning go during the off season which mean's good prices but average weather. read up as much as possible about it (trip advisor forums)

I would get a quote from FC but use that as a guide. In my experience you can almost always get it cheaper if you book on your own.
Emirates have decent special's you can have a look out for in the next few months. I book most accommodation using Booking.com and Agoda but sometime you can get a better deal booking directly.

That's just off the top of my head. Just shout if you have other questions

Hey

Was there in December for a third time. Have been going every alternative year for while which I'm sure tells you we quite like the place..

Look for accommodation in Karon / Kata - you don't want to land up in Patong. The first time we went in July and had a fair amount of rain, I think about 5 days of the 10 day trip were mostly rained out. That said, I know others who go every year in the monsoon season and seem to get away with it each time as they have great weather.

We used Pentravel for our December trip, they worked out cheapest on the package we requested. You may have to go via Hong Kong, if so I recommend stopping off either on route to phuket or on route home, great city to see for a few days.

Enjoy, it's a fantastic holiday.

I have only had bad weather once in June otherwise it has been fine. Look at the two pics at the bottom of this page to see the difference:

Have you been to Kata / Karon in June / July? The few times I drove through there in low season it was completely dead. In December it was a totally different place.

My new favourite place in Thailand is Khao Lak but it is the best to go from November to April when the Similan Islands are open. I should really update my abovementioned website with a Khao Lak section.
